Proeven in Groningen (A Taste of Groningen) – 2013

On the 31^st of August and 1^st of September 2013, the culinary event of the Northern Netherlands, Proeven in Groningen (A Taste of Groningen), will celebrate its six year anniversary! Proeven in Groningen is a proven successful culinary event that offers visitors the chance to sample dishes from top restaurants. Each year, the irresistible aromas of Proeven in Groningen attract increasing numbers of people.

Enthusiasm abounds to sample the culinary highlights produced during the two day festival. Twenty-two restaurants gather from the city of Groningen and the surrounding region on the outer and inner squares of the Harmoniecomplex on the Oude Kijk in het Jatstraat. These intimate squares are filled with many different stands and make for a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. As last year the Wolthoorn & Co Beer Hall, an authentic beer hall offering 11 different beers to taste and enjoy will be present.

Last year, during the 5^th edition of Proeven in Groningen, about 6500 visitors came to sample the delectable dishes. Even if the weather does not cooperate, there is plenty of covered space under the vaults of the Harmonie building, in the tents and under the many umbrellas.

Proeven in Groningen is open to the public and has free entrance! Visitors can purchase tokens for € 1,50 each. The price for each mouth-watering dish varies from one to three tokens. You can try as many different dishes as you wish!
